George Bleasdale’s notes about the history of the chairworks

Chairworks employee, George Bleasdale, lived in Chipping all his life, latterly at Seed Hill in the bungalow.   He worked in Berry’s office and was also clerk to Chipping Parish Council.  His father Bill, had also worked at the chairworks.

Both George and his father had great knowledge of Chipping’s history.

George regularly wrote a few notes with a local history theme as “Jottings” in St Bartholomew’s Parish Magazine.

The two pages of notes here about the history of Berrys chairworks were written by George and have come from a collection of documents kept by the late James Berry.
